On a return trip flying back home to Australia from France, I was mesmerized by the aerial views below . A tapestry of rich rusted, ochres of the earth and weaving tracks, against the deep blues of the open skies. Back in the studio I created a series of little rust and indigo artist books inside vintage cigar tins.

Each book has similar, but not the same elements, making each one a unique piece of art.
You will receive:
1 Handmade concertina book embellished with eco dyed papers and hand stitching. The enclosure is a piece of vintage string with an antique metal buckle from 1800’s and vintage button.
1 Handmade collage with antique crochet & antique metal suspender buckle 1800’s, with hand stitching on rusted watercolour paper.
1 rusted piece of vintage canvas cloth embellished with stitching using hand dyed indigo threads.
1 vintage and rusted fence dropper found in the Australian outback.
2 Photos inside an acrylic pouch taken inside an abandoned underground space in Paris, France.
The book comes together in a vintage, weathered, cigar tin with found text and numbers. The tins were discovered in an old shed. Each one is lined with a piece of vintage eco dyed handmade crochet.
